Sadie Sink Movies and Shows: Where to Watch Them in 2026
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is in cinemas and Sadie Sink's character is still unconfirmed. Here is what is known, plus where to stream her work in the US, UK and India.

Sadie Sink is in cinemas right now. Spider-Man: Brand New Day opened in India on 30 July 2026, a day ahead of its 31 July 2026 United States release, and Sink has third billing. Her character was deliberately never announced in the marketing, and as of today Marvel Studios and Sony have still issued no official confirmation of who she plays. A name did circulate from the film's premiere, and we cover it below inside a clearly marked spoiler section so you can stop reading first.
If you are here because her name keeps appearing and you want to actually watch her work, this is a guide to the roles that built her career and where each one streams in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. One title has moved since we first published this in June 2026.
Updated 30 July 2026: the Spider-Man secrecy, explained
What is confirmed
Sink is confirmed in the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton. Sony Pictures released it in Indian cinemas on 30 July 2026 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, a day before the 31 July United States date. She is billed third, after Tom Holland and Zendaya, alongside Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando and Mark Ruffalo.
The secrecy was deliberate. Cretton told The Hollywood Reporter on 23 July 2026: "Keeping what Sadie's doing under wraps, you'll honestly understand when you see the movie. The movie is a better movie if you don't know certain things." He added that the studio was "not doing it for any other reason but to protect the experience of the fans." Her character name was left off the official cast list entirely.
Sink has stayed inside the lines. In a 17 July 2026 promo video she joked that she would give three exclusive confirmations: that she is not Spider-Man, that she is not Aunt May, and that she is definitely in the movie. Two of those rule anything out, and that is the extent of what she has ruled out on the record.
What is reported and not confirmed
At the world premiere on 27 July 2026 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, musician Steve Lacy, who has a track on the film's soundtrack, was asked on the red carpet which character he was most excited about, with an explicit request not to spoil anything. He named the character anyway and described her role. Outlets including Rolling Stone, TheWrap and IBTimes covered it on 28 July 2026 as an accidental reveal. When the review embargo lifted that same day, some reviewers and social accounts repeated the name.
Here is the part that matters. Marvel Studios and Sony have never confirmed it. Reference pages and aggregator listings have since been updated to carry the name, but a studio has not stood behind it, and Cretton's on-the-record position remains that he would rather nobody knew. Treat the name as widely reported and unconfirmed, not as fact. If you want it, it is in the next section.
The Steve Lacy connection is a soundtrack credit, not a romance
Because "steve lacy" started trending next to "sadie sink" in the same week, a lot of people assumed the two were linked personally. Nothing on the record supports that. Lacy's connection to the film is musical: his track "Oh yeah?", the title song from the third studio album he released on 17 July 2026, is on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day soundtrack alongside songs by Tame Impala, Bad Bunny and Chaka Khan, with the score by Michael Giacchino. He was at the premiere as a soundtrack contributor. That is the entire connection.
Spoilers ahead
This section names the character reported at the premiere. Stop here if you want the film to surprise you.
The name Steve Lacy used on the red carpet was Jean, and he described her as "the villain, but there's a reason to her madness." Fans read that as Jean Grey, the X-Men character, which matches a theory that had circulated since Sink was cast in 2025. Post-embargo reviews and reference listings have run with it. The caveat stands: neither Marvel nor Sony has confirmed this, and no studio statement names her character. Reviews themselves were broadly positive, sitting at 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes from 211 critics as of 30 July 2026, with several critics praising Sink while refusing to describe what she does. Who is Sadie Sink
Sadie Sink is an American actor who started on Broadway as a child, playing the title role in Annie at the Palace Theatre, before reaching a global audience on television. What makes her worth following is the spread of the work: a hit Netflix series, a heavy A24 drama, a viral music short, a Tony nomination, a West End debut and now a Marvel tentpole, all inside a few years.
Stranger Things: the role that made her famous
Sink joined Stranger Things in season two as Max Mayfield and stayed to the end. The story is now complete: Netflix released season five in three parts, with Volume 1 on 26 November 2025, Volume 2 on 25 December 2025, and the finale, "The Rightside Up", on 31 December 2025, which also played in more than 350 cinemas across the United States and Canada.
One clarification that still trips people up. Stranger Things streams on Netflix, not on HBO Max. The "Max" attached to the show is Sink's character, not a streaming service. All five seasons are on Netflix in the United States, the United Kingdom and India.
The Whale: where it streams has changed
In Darren Aronofsky's 2022 A24 drama, Sink plays Ellie, the estranged daughter of the man played by Brendan Fraser. It is still the best showcase of her dramatic range.
This is the entry that has gone stale since June. The Whale is no longer included with any subscription service in the United States. It is now rent or buy only in the US, on Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store and Fandango at Home. The same applies in the United Kingdom, where it is rent or buy on Apple TV, Amazon Video, Rakuten TV, Curzon Home Cinema, Google Play and YouTube. Listings in both countries now show no subscription option at all, only the digital stores.
India is the outlier, and in a good way. There, The Whale streams on Sony LIV at no extra cost with a subscription, which makes it by far the cheapest way to see it.
Fear Street Part Two: 1978
Sink plays Ziggy Berman in Fear Street Part Two: 1978, the summer camp middle chapter of Netflix's R.L. Stine trilogy, and appears again in Part Three: 1666. The trilogy is a Netflix original and streams on Netflix in the United States, the United Kingdom and India. It is the easiest title here to find, and the furthest from her dramatic work.
All Too Well: The Short Film
Her most-watched performance is free. Sink starred opposite Dylan O'Brien in All Too Well: The Short Film, written and directed by Taylor Swift and released on YouTube on 12 November 2021 alongside Red (Taylor's Version). It is available worldwide on Swift's official channel at no cost, which makes it the quickest possible sample of her work.
The smaller films: Dear Zoe, A Sacrifice, O'Dessa
Dear Zoe (2022) casts her as Tess, a teenager processing a family loss. In the United States it is unusually easy to find: included with Amazon Prime Video, and free with ads on Tubi, The Roku Channel, Kanopy and Hoopla. It is not currently available on any service in India.
A Sacrifice (2024) is a thriller with Eric Bana, with Sink as his daughter Mazzy. It streams on Netflix in the United States and is also there to rent or buy. No listings in India at the moment.
O'Dessa (2025) is the strangest thing on her CV, a Searchlight rock opera in which she plays the title role. It streams on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ in the United Kingdom. In India it is listed only on Vi Movies and TV, a far less common subscription, so this one is hard to reach there.
Her stage work, and why you cannot stream it
Sink played Shelby Holcomb in John Proctor Is the Villain at Broadway's Booth Theatre, which brought her a 2025 Tony nomination for Best Leading Actress in a Play, one of seven nominations for the production including Best Play. Her final performance was 13 July 2025, with Chiara Aurelia taking over from 15 July.
She then made her West End debut as Juliet in Robert Icke's Romeo and Juliet at the Harold Pinter Theatre opposite Noah Jupe, a strictly limited season that ran from 19 March to 20 June 2026. Both runs have closed and neither is available to stream, which is worth knowing before you go hunting for a recording that does not exist.

What is next for Sadie Sink
Two projects are announced and neither is watchable yet. She will star in and executive produce The Marriage Plot, an FX limited series for Hulu adapted from Jeffrey Eugenides' novel, written by Will Arbery, directed by Hiro Murai, with A24 and FX Productions producing. She is also attached to star in and executive produce Universal's film version of John Proctor Is the Villain, with the play's director Danya Taymor returning, Kimberly Belflower adapting her own script, and Marc Platt and Tina Fey producing. Both are in development, so treat them as things to look forward to rather than things to queue.
Frequently asked questions
Who does Sadie Sink play in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
Marvel Studios and Sony have not officially announced her character, and her name was kept off the cast list on purpose. A name was said out loud at the 27 July 2026 premiere by a soundtrack contributor and has been repeated widely since, but it remains reported rather than confirmed. Sink has only ruled out two things on the record: she is not Spider-Man and she is not Aunt May. The reported name is in the spoiler section above.
Are Sadie Sink and Steve Lacy dating?
There is nothing on the record connecting them personally. Steve Lacy has a song, "Oh yeah?", on the Spider-Man: Brand New Day soundtrack, and he attended the premiere in that capacity. The reason the two names trend together is that he named her character in a red carpet interview, not anything romantic.
Is Stranger Things on Netflix or HBO Max?
Netflix, in every major market including the United States, the United Kingdom and India. The "Max" people associate with the show is Sink's character, Max Mayfield. Season five completed its release on 31 December 2025, so all five seasons are available now.
Where can I watch The Whale with Sadie Sink?
In India, it streams on Sony LIV. In the United States and the United Kingdom it is currently rent or buy only through the usual digital stores, including Apple TV, Amazon Video and Fandango at Home. It is no longer included with a US subscription service, which is a change from earlier in 2026.
What should I watch first to get into Sadie Sink?
Stranger Things, because it is the role that made her and the story is now finished. If you want a film, The Whale is the strongest dramatic showcase. If you have fifteen minutes and no subscriptions, All Too Well: The Short Film is free on YouTube.
Has Sadie Sink won a Tony Award?
No. She was nominated in 2025 for Best Leading Actress in a Play for John Proctor Is the Villain, in a production that received seven nominations including Best Play. She has not won.
